Welcome to Callanwolde! We hope you will enjoy this Virtual Tour of one of Atlanta's most celebrated historic residences.
Built in 1920 by Coca-Cola heir Charles Howard Candler, Callanwolde was saved from demolition in 1971 by the citizens of DeKalb County and serves today as a unique arts center and hub of cultural activity for the entire metropolitan Atlanta area. The original estate encompassed 27 acres and included the 27,000 square foot Gothic-Tudor style mansion, a gardener's cottage, a four-car garage with servant's quarters, a swimming pool with pool house, six tennis courts, two large greenhouses, livestock barns, extensive vegetable and flower gardens, and a wide variety of native shrubs and trees as well as fruit and nut trees.
