The Callanwolde Jazz Dance Theatre

The Callanwolde Jazz Dance Theatre was founded in the Fall of 2002 under the artistic direction of Jeanne Hangliter. The objective of the Jazz Dance Theatre is to provide jazz dancers from beginning to advanced, ages 7 & up, the opportunity to perform and experience a pre-professional Broadway-style performance during their education at Callanwolde. The training the dancers receive isbased on a classical jazz technique with opportunities to broaden their talents with an audition-based experience that provides a chance to encompass music performance including an atmosphere that expresses dedication and commitment at the level each dancer chooses to participate. The performance is not required as part of the Jazz Program, but is a wonderful instrument to express each dancer's capability and to experience the process of a pre-professional performance. Callanwolde Jazz Dance Theatre provides a more detailed description and schedule during the first weeks of each Fall Quarter for the upcoming year.
