Parents will observe their child in performance during the Children's Dance Concert on Friday, May 30th. Parents may discuss their child's personal growth and development with the instructor following the last class of the quarter.

The Art and Craft of Photographing Pottery
Walker Montgomery is recognized as among the best craft photographers in the country. Among his clients are Ron Meyers, Michael Simon, Andy Nassise, and the Georgia Council for the Arts. He has been working professionally for over thirty years, and has taught art photography workshops at UGA and the Penland School. The majority of his business is devoted to artists' portfolio imagery.

"During our workshop I will first show photos of pottery showing different styles that are possible using the equipment that I use. Then we can discuss lighting gear, cameras, lens choices, films and the need to match them to light sources and the use of reflectors. Bring your cameras if you wish and I will help you understand your equipment better.
Each person should bring a piece to photograph. Hopefully we will have enough time to shoot one for each of you. Please limit size to 36" or smaller.

While shooting I will have the camera (digital) tethered to a television so the preview will show up on a large screen instead of the little one on the back of the camera. This lets everyone see the effects of lighting changes and will allow us to compare different versions of photos of the same piece and see what we like and don't like. I will explain everything I'm doing as I do it and hopefully be able to explain why." Max. 25.

Instructor: Walker Montgomery
Fee: $100 both days, $60 one day
